PSP Truck Crushes Lagos APC Chairmanship Aspirant To Death

Catastrophe struck on the eve of nearby government committee race in Lagos State as a PSP smashed a chairmanship aspirant of the Ikotun/Igando Local Council Development Area to death.

Mr Shakiru Balogun, otherwise known as
SAB, was a previous Chairman, National Union of Local Government Employees of the LCDA and an individual from the All Progressives Congress. He couldn't secure the gathering's ticket at the primaries.

Saturday PUNCH learnt that the competitor was setting off to the gathering secretariat around 12pm on Friday when the driver of the PSP lost control of the truck and smashed it into Balogun's Toyota 4runner at Okofili Bus Stop, LASU-Isheri Road.

An onlooker, Fadeyi Daisi, said 52-year-old Balogun kicked the bucket on the spot.

He included, "The PSP driver fled the scene, however I don't know whether he was later captured by the police. It was exceptionally sad. The entryway of the game utility vehicle was cut with a saw before crisis authorities could remove his body."

An occupant of Abu Taiwo Street, Afolabi Bus Stop, Akesan, where Balogun lived, Joshua Ogundipe, said the episode had tossed the group into grieving.

Ogundipe included, "He accepted his loss at the primaries in accordance with some basic honesty. He was heading off to the workplace when the occurrence happened. He is made due by two spouses and four children. He had been covered by Islamic custom."
