Leonardo DiCaprio was selected to be the messenger of peace by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to advance the association's worldwide
activity on environmental change.

Ki-moon portrayed the 'Wolf of Wall Street' star – who built up his own particular establishment to advance the world's residual untamed life situations in 1998 – as 'not only one of the world's driving performers' but rather as likewise having 'a longstanding duty to ecological causes.'

As indicated by the New York Post daily paper's Page Six section, Leonardo is set to go to next Tuesday, September 23, 2014 atmosphere summit where he will address 120 world pioneers on the subject.

The 39-year-old on-screen character said he feels 'an ethical commitment to stand up at this key crossroads in mankind's history' and is respected to have gone up against the part in an offer to handle the risk of environmental change.

Leonardo joins a large group of other famous names who have turned out to be United Nations Messengers of Peace including Stevie Wonder, Michael Douglas, George Clooney, Brazilian creator Paulo Coelho and conductor Daniel Barenboim
