Could This Be The End Of Iyanya And Chidinma's Career?

Chidinma and Iyanya all boed up on stage 3
Nigerian hip-hop stars Iyanya and chidinma are really making their fans ask a lot of questions about them.

Both singers have so far been the best talents discovered on music reality
show, Project Fame and given a fair chance, the duo should be among the most successful musicians in Nigeria by 2020.

But Now The two hip-hop stars who have recently switched labels have really been silent for quite a while now and fans are beginning to wonder if these two talented singers can achieve their true potential in their new labels.

Iyanya, who won the first edition of Project Fame, released the big hit ‘Kukere’ in 2011, the same year he signed a recording contract with Made Men Music Group (MMMG), which he supposedly co-owned with Ubi Franklin who bought his ticket to the show that made him a star.

After three albums and hit songs including ‘Kukere’, ‘Your Waist’, ‘Flavour’, and ‘Sexy Mama’ under MMMG, Iyanya has moved to Don jazzy-led Mavin Records where he desires to revive his career.

That move, one can argue, has been the major highlight from the singer in recent times as the scene has seen a number of artistes thrive better since he hit the spotlight.

The same can be said of Chidinma, aka
Miss Kedike, as she is also known, won Project Fame West Africa at the age of 19 in 2010 and also became the first female singer to top MTV Base Official Naija Top 10 chart.

Straight out of the academy, Chidinma started working on her first studio album, the same period she released her debut-hit song, ‘Emi Ni Baller’, which was followed with ‘Jankoliko’ featuring Sound Sultan.

Her first and only album, Chidinma, produced by Cobhams Asuquo and Tee-Y Mix, was released in 2012 under Capital Hills.

Since then, her career paled and the big expectations for such a lovely voice and talent died down as the years went by.

In that time, Chidinma parted ways with Capital Hills, the record label led by ace cinematographer, Clarence Peters, in February.

But just like Iyanya, she subtly confirmed joining Flavour‘s record label, 2nite Music Group, with her new music video for ‘Fallen in Love’.

Iyanya and Chidinma are stuck in the middle of their careers, and they’ve both made a daring decision by switching their record labels.

Now it remains to be seen where their careers head from here. Both have the talent to pull through, but we all know it takes more than just talent to remain a force in this industry
