American rapper Jay Z could leave a mark on the world as the first ever rapper to enter the Songwriters Hall of Fame After he was among the 24
candidates who were nominated for the 2017 cycle

 Other nominees are Madonna, Bryan Adams, George Michael, GloriaEstefan, Cat Stevens, funk pioneer Sylvester "Guileful Stone" Stewart, too Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds and Swedish hitmaker Max Martin.

Songwriters get to be qualified for enlistment into the association in the wake of having a songwriting career of over 20 years.

Jay Z who released his album collection Reasonable Doubt in 1996 has since heaped up credits under his given name of Shawn Carter on the hit melodies Hard Knock Life, Empire State of Mind, and '03 Bonnie& Clyde, his two part harmony with spouse Beyoncé. His latest record, Magna Carta Holy Grail, was released in 2013.
